The Lord Botetourt wrestlers were scheduled to have their “Senior Night” tonight in Daleville with a quad match, but that has been postponed until next Thursday, Jan. 27.

Northside, Franklin County and Staunton River were originally scheduled to compete in the match but Staunton River will not be able to attend next week so it will now be a tri-match with LB, Northside and Franklin County. Weigh-ins will be at 5 p.m. with senior recognition at 6 p.m. and wrestling to follow.

The Cavaliers have not been on the mats since they competed at Staunton River in a quad last Wednesday, Jan. 12. The Cavaliers beat William Fleming, 57-12, tied William Byrd, 40-40, and lost to host Staunton River, 40-33.

“I’ll sum it up in one word, ‘sloppy’,” said LB coach Chuck Burton. “We had six starters out, but no reason to make excuses. We were sloppy from the time we arrived until the time we left.”

The Cavs were scheduled to wrestle in the Brookville Duals last Saturday but that event was cancelled due to the threat of bad weather.
