Lord Botetourt’s Kenleigh Gunter digs one out in the state championship match.

Lord Botetourt’s Kenleigh Gunter digs one out in the state championship match and accepts her fifth state championship award at the Salem Civic Center last November.

Lord Botetourt High School senior Kenleigh Gunter has decided to attend Randolph College in Lynchburg to continue her education and play volleyball this fall.

Randolph College is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and is coached by Lynchburg College graduate Kara Matthews. Kenleigh will be competing against former LB teammate Catherine Reinard and former James River standout Linsey Bailey when the WildCats come to Salem to play Roanoke College.

Gunter will leave Lord Botetourt with five state championship rings. She was a defensive specialist for the Cavaliers for the past three seasons as LB won back-to-back-to-back Class 3 state volleyball championships. She also played on the 2018 and 2020 state championship Cavalier basketball teams.

Kenleigh is also on the spring softball team at Lord Botetourt and is considering playing softball at Randolph as well.
