Pictured are about half of Mike Lee’s students performing on Sunday. From left are: front row, Birdie Boblett, Micah Fender, Owen Breeden and Addie Bankert; second row, Kaeli Berry, Cindy Bane, Ryan Nordgren and Justin Broughman; third row, Mike Lee, Ella Henley, Brycen Adkinson, Mike Bane and Nathan Fender; back row, Daniel Anderson, Michael Jorgensen, Jacob VanNess, David Austin, Sandy Meador, Jonathan Anderson and Mitch Fritz.

The 14th Annual Music Recital for Mike Lee’s students will be held at The D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Theatre in Fincastle on October 20, beginning at 2 p.m. There will be a short intermission, then the teens and adults will start at 4 p.m. Food will be offered by The DR Mission Team from Mill Creek Baptist Church, and will be served at a reasonable cost throughout the afternoon. No food is allowed inside the theatre.

There will be some surprises along the way and Mike Lee may even talk former student David Austin into a song or two as he has a CD coming out soon.

This event will feature new students and seasoned performers. There will even be a young bluegrass band called “Pico Road” who just got going under the direction of Lee.

Lee said he measures success by helping those who want to play and sing – then there is an extra reward when the students play in churches and at area events.

The recital is a free event although donations will be gladly accepted.
