Virginia “Ginny” Gibson Moran, 83, of Troutville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Raleigh Court Health Care Center.

Ginny was born in Daleville December 19, 1935 and lived in the area all of her life.  She was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Myrtle Sink Gibson.

Ginny was head housekeeper for Travel Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, playing dominoes and gin rummy, shopping, and flowers. Ginny was a member of Cave Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Harry Alfred Moran; daughter, Ann Lynn Moran; brother, Junior Gibson; sister, Nancy Moran; and special friend, Henry Wyrick.

Ginny is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Chris Draper of Troutville, Robin and Robert Smith of Glen Allen; grandchildren, Ashley Draper, Caitlin Draper, Dakota Draper, Jason Smith, Adam (Caron) Smith, Jamie Smith, and Trevor Cox; great-grandchildren, Abigail Cox, Levi Cox, Allison Smith, Samantha Smith, Addison Smith, and Colton Smith; brother, Lewis Gibson of Troutville; and sisters, Mary Sparks of Roanoke and Frances Barbour of Cloverdale.

A celebration of Ginny’s life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville with the Rev. John Graybill officiating.  Burial was in Daleville Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.rader-funeralhome.com.
