Mountain Castles Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for two $1,000 scholarships, which are presented annually to Botetourt County students.

Graduating seniors at James River High School are eligible for the Harold P. “Bubby” Entsminger Honorary Scholarship. Lord Botetourt students may apply for the John and Hallie Seibel Scholarship.

Each scholarship will be awarded to a student with a background in agriculture, conservation, forestry or environmental sciences and/or to a student pursuing an education in one of these fields or in a related field of study.

Preference will be given to students attending Virginia universities who have high academic standards and extracurricular activities in areas related to agriculture and/or natural resource conservation.

Scholarship applications should be submitted to Mountain Castles SWCD by March 31. Applications are available at http://www.mountaincastles.org/scholarships/. Questions may be directed to Tim Miller at trailrunner95@gmail.com.
