A nip in the air and hints of fall colors signal the arrival of fall and Buchanan’s 26th Mountain Magic In Fall Festival this Saturday, Oct. 2. Activities begin 10 a.m. and will continue through 5 p.m.

More than 100 vendor spaces will be on the Town Park while merchants offer sidewalk sales on Main Street. Vendors, churches and civic groups will be offering a wide variety of merchandise including handmade crafts, art, candles, jewelry, woodwork, antiques, furniture, glass, and some great food including BBQ, Philly cheese steaks, funnel cakes, Carnival Burgers, ice cream and Carnival Fries.

Businesses throughout town invite you to drop by to discover the goods and services offered in the community including hardware, John Deere equipment, hunting supplies, antiques, art, furniture, jewelry, primitives, textiles, carpets and restaurants offering great food and Southern hospitality. Friends of the Buchanan Library will be hosting their fall sale at the Carson Memorial Building on Main Street across from the Buchanan Volunteer Fire and Rescue Building. A portion of Bedford Street will be closed to feature a display of classic autos and tractors on display.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and sit a while to enjoy a full day of live bluegrass performances sponsored by Bank of Botetourt.

The performance schedule includes:

  • 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Haymaker Town Express
  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Blue Connection
  • 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m., Trinity Tree Bluegrass
  • 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Jason Harris & Friends
