Mountain Magic 2025 will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Buchanan. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Mountain Magic festival, an annual event hosted in the Town Park located off Lowe Street.

More than 70 vendors are currently confirmed, with additional applications still being received and accepted. Vendor offerings include wooden crafts, jewelry, handmade soaps, candles, macrame, crochet, embroidery, and quilts. Many items feature seasonal themes for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, ideal for holiday shopping.

Expanded children’s activities will be available this year, including a vendor-operated train ride, inflatable bounce houses, and face painting. The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office will provide child identification cards, and Botetourt County EMS plans to have a truck on-site, pending emergency availability. Official Mountain Magic T-shirts and baseball caps, featuring a logo designed by Buchanan resident Ranse Ransone, will be available for purchase.

A variety of food vendors will be present, including H’s BBQ & Snow Cones, Middle East Feast, BK Festival Eats, The Grill of Rights, 3A Gourmet Coffee, Promised Land Coffee, Smooshed Ice Cream Sandwiches, Star City Sips, and carnival fries, with additional vendors expected.

Bluegrass music will be performed throughout the event by Haymaker Town Express, Collins & Ashcroft, Blue Connection, Wasted Ways, Mill Creek-Mike Lee, and Virginia Carolina. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs to relax between shopping and dining while enjoying traditional and contemporary bluegrass performances.

An antique and classic vehicle display will feature autos, trucks, and tractors. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the owners and vote for their favorite entries.

Shops and restaurants along Main Street will also be open to provide additional shopping and dining options. Visitors are encouraged to explore local landmarks, including Buchanan’s swinging bridge and LOVE sign, and to share photos taken during the festival.

Late vendor applications are still being accepted.
