Open Studios-Botetourt, “Art in the Country,” will return Oct. 17-18 for its annual open studio and workshop tour.
The event will feature artists working in photography, jewelry, painting, collage, wood carving, printmaking and woodworking. Studios, workshops and residences at seven locations throughout Botetourt County will showcase 16 artists.
The tour will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
A new location this year is the Botetourt Museum of History and Culture. The tour will extend from the Daleville/Troutville area into historic Fincastle and slightly beyond, with stops ranging from several artists working together at a single location to individual studios.
Returning Botetourt artists include Ed Bordett, Leah Coffman, Vera Dickerson, Dan Jones, Diane Harto, Kristen Corbett, Brett LaGue, Cheryl Miller Lackey, Judith F. Lochbrunner, Jim Stadtlander and Mark Woodie. Returning guest artist Karin Carlson also will participate.
New guest artists are Richard Fuman, Michele Walter, Chelsea Dudley and Julie Gale.
Visitors can learn more about the artists and tour locations at openstudiosbotetourt.com, which includes a map with addresses and contact information. Visitors also can begin the tour at 5 East Main Street in Fincastle, where they can pick up a brochure containing the map and artist information. Brochures also are available at Roanoke Valley Bank of Botetourt locations.
