Janet Flinchum Peery, 79, of Troutville, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Janet was born in Roanoke November 12, 1942 and lived in Botetourt all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Ezra L. and Ruby Jones Flinchum.
Janet was a 1960 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, was a member of First Baptist Church of Troutville, and a dairy farmer. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and watching westerns and mysteries.
Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gilbert Thomas Peery; children, G. Thomas (Ann) Peery, Michael Wayne (Kerrie) Peery, and Donna Gayle Warren; five grandchildren, Clay, Landon, Sarah, Zane, and Sam; sister, Doris (Fred) Showalter; and a niece, Rachel Wattenberger.
A celebration of Janet’s life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, with Ben Peyton officiating. A private burial was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends were received at the funeral home two hours prior to the service Saturday.
