Registrar will discuss voting district changes Thursday

American Legion Post 240 will offer a seminar conducted by Botetourt County Director of Elections Registrar Traci Clark. She will discuss the recent changes in voting districts; new voting laws, etc. After her PowerPoint presentation, she will take a limited amount of questions from the floor.”

This seminar will be held at the VFW Hall at the corner of Rt. 220 and Country Club Road, Daleville. It will begin promptly at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7. Limited seating will begin at 6:30 p.m. The general public and all military members are invited to attend.”

The Post will conduct an abbreviated monthly meeting afterward.

American Legion Post 240 announces winners of Boys, Girls State programs

American Legion Post 240 has announced the winners of this year’s local Boys State and Girls State programs. Boys State students are Nathan Badgley and Aidan Mayhue; Girls State students are Falan Peters and Mary Scott. All four students attend Lord Botetourt High School.

Boys State and Girls State are one week programs sponsored by American Legion, open to male and female juniors in a high school located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. These programs teach the students the inner workings of government on a state level and during their week stay, they participate in many aspects of government functions.
