PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF THE BOTETOURT COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

The Botetourt County Planning Commission will
hold a public hearing Monday, March 9, 2026, at
6:00 PM in the Botetourt County Administration
Center at 57 S. Center Drive, Daleville, Virginia
to consider and receive comment on the following:
Fincastle District: Erryn M. & Virginia A. Barkett
(Roanoke Road Solar 1, LLC, c/o New Leaf En
ergy Inc, lessee) request a Commission Permit in
accordance with 15.2-2232 of the Virginia State
Code and a Special Exception Permit for a utility
scale solar energy facility, with possible conditions,
in the Agricultural, A-1 Use District. This 53.40
acre parcel is located on Roanoke Road (US Route
220), adjacent to 6457 Roanoke Road, Fincastle,
and identified on the Tax Maps as Section 73-157.

Please note that if Botetourt County Administra
tion Offices are closed all day on the public hear
ing date due to inclement weather, the Planning
Commission will hear this request on March 24,
2026 at 6:00 PM with the Board of Supervisors.
