Tim Rasnick is retiring from the Lord Botetourt baseball coaching staff. Tim has been a valuable assistant on the high school staff for the past 21 years and he started the Read Mountain Middle School baseball program. He also coaches golf for the Cavaliers and will coach one more season on the links next fall. Rasnick was recognized at LB’s “Senior Day” home game with William Byrd last week, most likely his last home game. Here, he doffs his cap to the crowd, gives head coach Todd Smith a big hug and accepts a plaque and decorated home plate in appreciation for his many years of faithful service. Tim’s family and a slew of past LB players and friends attended to pay homage to the popular Rasnick. “Tim and I have been together for a long time,” said Smith. “He’s good at picking up things about players’ swings, and he knows baseball. He’ll be missed.”
