
With the high school sports season in the rear view mirror, Region 3D teams can be revealed. Lord Botetourt had selections in four different spring sports.
In baseball, junior Garrett Lonker was named first team designated hitter as well as second team pitcher. Honorable mention goes to senior Noah Donaho at shortstop and two outfielders, junior Brady Kish and sophomore Jairdan Pennix. Abingdon swept the top honors with Jeff Humphreys being named Player of the Year and Mark Francisco Coach of the Year.
In softball, LB senior Autumn Russell is a first team selection at catcher. Botetourt had two girls named honorable mention, senior shortstop Maya Mougin and freshman pitcher Olivia Pierce. Staunton River sophomore Kailynne Kiester was named Player of the Year and Chelsea Campbell of Abingdon is the region Coach of the Year.
Two Cavaliers made first team All-Region 3D in boys soccer. Senior Will Hall was named at forward and senior Kalob Daniels was named at midfield. Second team honors go to senior JB Cook in the goal and two juniors, Isaiah Lankford at forward and Robbie Sanchez at midfield. Issac Alderman, a junior forward, is honorable mention. Christiansburg swept the big honors as Sami Seife is Player of the Year and Adam Pickeral is Coach of the Year.
In girls soccer, senior Bria Harvey is first team at forward. Second team All-Region Cavs are senior Katherine Woodward at midfield and senior Cailey Petrauskas on defense. Two sophomores made honorable mention for LB, midfielder Kendall Nixon and defender Ella Flether. Cave Spring swept the honors with Gabriella Carnevali as Player of the Year and Erin Smth as Coach of the Year.
