Holly Hylton took a fifth in the 500 meters and ran on the fourth place 4×200 relay team as the James River girls took 17th among 35 teams at the Class 1 & 2 track meet last week. The Glenvar girls and Bruton boys were team winners at Liberty University in Lynchburg.
Hylton ran a time of 1:27.3 in the 500. The 4×200 team of Hylton, Ella Wright, Nevaeh VanBuren and Kylie Mills finished fourth at 1:56.18.
In the boys meet the Knights placed in one event, an eighth place finish in the 4×800 meters. The team of Cayden Shorter, Jacob Hill, James Voight and Silas Miller ran a time of 9:11.27.
“Everyone we took to the meet placed,” said River coach Greg Dyer.
