The James River golfers played a Three Rivers District match at the Hanging Rock golf course on Monday and finished third among the six district teams competing. Floyd County won the round, as the Buffaloes have done in every district match this season.

Floyd shot a 313 with medalist Ryne Bond leading the way with a 71. Radford was second at 339 and James River shot 350. Next was Glenvar at 357, and Carroll County and Alleghany tied for fourth at 378.

River’s low score was an 81 by Ryan Steger. Also scoring for the Knights were Dylan Hicks at 88, Sam Bell at 89 and Haden Parker with a 92.

The Knights were scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday of this week with a non-district match at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club against Bath County. Next Tuesday, September 6, River will be at the Greenbrier.
