The Three Rivers District season golf tour closed out last week with a round at the Giles Country Club. James River finished fifth among the seven teams with a team score of 377.
Radford had the best score of the day at 333. Host Giles was next at 336, followed by Floyd at 342, Carroll County at 345 and then the Knights. The medalist was a tie between Logan Douthat of Giles and Avery Alexander of Glenvar.
River’s best score was an 85 by Ryan Steger, who was selected as a first team All-District player. A freshman, Ryan finished the regular season in fifth place individually.
Also scoring for the Knights were Silas Miller at 96, Lacey Kessler with a personal best 97 and Joey Schroeder at 99.
The River junior varsity was scheduled to play at Great Oaks on Tuesday and today the varsity will be hosting Patrick County at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club.
