Recreation football playoffs begin this Saturday at a variety of locations for youth teams. Three tournaments culminate in championship finals at Salem Stadium on November 2.

In the PeeWee tournament, for 8 and under players, the Botetourt team is the fifth seed among eight teams and will open at Bogle Field on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Glenvar. If Botetourt wins the team will advance to the semifinal round on October 23 against the winner of an opening round game between top-seeded Vinton and Franklin County.

In the Little Division, for 10 and under players, Botetourt is the top seed and will get a first round bye in the 10-team tournament. Botetourt will play the winner of a first round game between Salem and North Roanoke at 6:30 next Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Spartan Field in front of Salem High School.

In the Junior Division, for 12 and under players, Botetourt is the third seed and will play Vinton on Saturday at noon at Spartan Field. The winner will meet the North Roanoke-Franklin County winner on October 23 in the semifinal round at Bogle Field.

All championship games are at Salem Stadium on November 2 with the PeeWees at 10 a.m., the Littles at noon and the Juniors at 2 p.m.
