Lord Botetourt and James River had athletes participating in the East Coast Elite Track Meet last Saturday at Roanoke College. The indoor track meet included many schools and was held at the Kerr-Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse in Salem.
“We had a few kids out sick or recovering from being sick Saturday so that was tough,” said LB coach Michelle Gantzhorn. “We did, however, have a few standout performances.”
Lord Botetourt had 10 personal bests and Rye Jackson state qualified in the 500 meters.
The Blue Ridge District meet was scheduled for Tuesday at VMI but results were too late for publication. The Region 2C meet, including James River, will be held at Roanoke College on Friday, February 16, and the Region 3D meet, with LB, will be at RC the following day, on Saturday, February 17.
