Margaret M. Rock, 90, of Troutville, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at her residence following a long illness.
Margaret was born in Troutville January 16, 1929 and lived in the area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Dora E. Dillard Martin. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, word puzzles, and birds. She was a member of Troutville Church of the Brethren and active in the various Women’s Auxiliary groups.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Rock, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Sheri Rock of Troutville, Jeff and Cynthia Rock of Tampa, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Wayne Mills of Fincastle; grandchildren, Jackie Moore, Kevin Mills, Patrick Rock, Aaron Rock, and Hillary Taylor; great-grandchildren, Collin Moore, Justin Moore, Braden Pauley, and Kaiden Mills; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha Pugh of Cloverdale, Rachel Boitnott of Boones Mill, and Edna and Jimmy Brubaker of Roanoke; many nieces and nephews; and a special thanks to niece, Debby Ferris.
A graveside service and burial was Tuesday, September 17 in Troutville Cemetery with Pastor Terry Johnson officiating. The family received friends at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville Monday, 6-8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Troutville Church of the Brethren, P.O.
