The Roanoke Valley Bird Club, in cooperation with Northwest True Value Hardware, is busy preparing for their annual seed sale to benefit the community and backyard birds.

By purchasing seed through RVBC, you will have access to quality seed containing little or no waste, harvested this year, at reasonable prices. Proceeds from the sale will be used for the club’s community projects.

This year, the sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Northwest True Value Hardware on Rt. 11 in the Hollins area (7650 Williamson Road) from10 a.m.-1 p.m. Refreshments will be served, bird feeders and bluebird boxes will be available for purchase, and experienced birders will be on hand to answer questions.

The Roanoke Valley Bird Club organizes a full calendar of field trips each year. These trips give members a chance to learn more about birds in the area. In the fall, club members volunteer to watch the skies for migrating raptors at Harvey’s Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway. For information on monthly meetings, visit the RVBC website: http://roanokebird.tripod.com
