
The Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame announced the winner of the annual Ray Bellamy Award on Thursday, August 7, at the Salem Red Sox game. The Bellamy Award is presented to the high school Player of the Year in the area served by the Hall of Fame. Pictured, left to right, are Red Sox General Manager Allen Lawrence and finalists Brice Abbott of Blacksburg, Zac McGlothlin of Auburn, Lawson Pasley of Franklin County and Tristan Lange of North Cross, who was announced as the winner of the award. Trace Monroe of Salem and Camden Spangler of Northside were also finalists but could not attend. In addition, two scholarship winners, sponsored by the Hall of Fame, were announced. Auburn’s Jared Lavergne was presented the Kelvin Bowles Scholarship for Love of the Game. Salem’s Carter Black received the Posey Oyler Scholarship.
