Dorothy M. Smith has been promoted to branch manager of the Bank of Botetourt’s Melrose Plaza office at 2502 Melrose Avenue, NW, Roanoke.
Joining Bank of Botetourt in 2013, Smith previously served as a senior universal banker at the Daleville location. With over a decade of financial industry experience, she brings valuable expertise and leadership to her new role.
Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Education from the University of Maryland–College Park. She has pursued further education through postgraduate coursework at various universities. After graduating, Smith went on to be a high school teacher for over two decades in both the Metropolitan D.C. area and Roanoke before joining the bank.
Smith is actively involved with the Buchanan Lions Club, the Emmaus Walk, the DAR organization, and the Vinton Dogwood Festival Committee. In her free time, she enjoys officiating instructional basketball leagues in Botetourt County and refereeing volleyball at local and collegiate levels.

The bank celebrated the grand opening and of its Melrose Office last Friday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house for the public to enjoy.
