Both county softball teams will be in action Saturday. Lord Botetourt is at Fort Defiance and James River will make their annual appearance in the Cave Spring Jamboree in Roanoke County. River will play host Cave Spring at 10 a.m. and Tazewell High at 11:30 a.m.

On Monday the real games begin with the James River baseball team visiting Salem to open the season at Billy Sample Field. Also Monday the River boys soccer team is at Auburn.

Lord Botetourt sports open in a big way next Tuesday, March 14, as the baseball team hosts Glenvar. Both tennis teams also play Glenvar, with the boys at home and the girls at Glenvar, and the LB boys soccer team will host the Highlanders in the evening. The LB softball team is home to Blacksburg.
