Attic Productions’ next live theatre performance on the stage is “Steel Magnolias,” by Robert Harling. The setting is a beauty salon in Chinquapin, La., where the ladies of the neighborhood have a standing Saturday appointment with Truvy or her anxious and eager assistant, Annelle. Each woman is unique– a wealthy widow and former first lady of Chinquapin Clairee Belcher, local curmudgeon Ouiser Boudreaux, career woman M’Lynn, and her daughter Shelby, the prettiest girl in town. Come experience the joy, excitement and compassion as these ladies face the realities of life and find comfort in one another.

Chip Addison directs a talented group of local actors in this production, presented by special permission of Dramatic Play Service Inc., with partial funding by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Cast: Truvy – Traci Addison, Michelle Hardin (Understudy), Annelle – Ashley Light, Brandi Dawson (U), Clairee – Kris Sorensen, Susan Singleton (U), Shelby – Emma Boyer, Linsee Lewis (U), M’Lynn – Melanie Fox, Kathy Boyer (U), Ouiser – Sandi Rhodes, Kelly Hoagland (U)

Show dates are October 6-9 and 13-16. Evening Performances start at 7:30 on Thursdays and Fridays, and Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30. Note, there are no Saturday evening shows but Sunday matinee performances have been added. All adult tickets are $15, with a reduced rate for those 18 years and under and for groups of 10 or more at $12.  2020 Season Tickets will be honored for all adult shows in 2022. Call the Attic Productions box office (540-473-1001) for reservations. Volunteers began staffing the office September 26, on Monday and Wednesday 3-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Leave a message at other times.

All unvaccinated persons are asked to wear a mask at all times when in the theatre. See the website for the most current information, www. atticproductions.info.
