Seay graduates from Virginia Bankers Association program
Jerrica Seay was among the 29 Virginia bankers who graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association Management Development Program. Seay works out of Bank of Botetourt’s Care Center Office in the Town of Buchanan and oversees Deposit Operations, Electronic Banking and Card Services.
The Management Development Program lasts five months and is designed for bankers who have developed a passion for banking and want to enhance their knowledge of the business side of the industry. Graduates attended five sessions that concentrate on various aspects of bank management and personal development with the purpose of learning concepts that can have a positive impact on professional development.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the banking industry and meet other bankers who share similar career goals,” Seay said. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Sustainability from Mary Baldwin College (now Mary Baldwin University).
Seay grew up in Lexington and resides in Glasgow with her husband, Adam, and their daughters, Alaina and Sarah.
Two from Botetourt on Belmont Dean’s List
Hunter Barrett of Troutville and Hannah Wright of Buchanan were among the students who achieved the Dean’s List at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., for the Fall 2021 semester.
Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Newton on Emerson Dean’s List
John Newton of Fincastle is among the students named to Emerson College’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester. The requirement to make Dean’s List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.
Newton is majoring in Creative Writing BFA and is a member of the Class of 2022 at the college in Boston, Mass.
Saville awarded degree from UA
Makayla Saville of Eagle Rock has received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. UA awarded 2,362 degrees during its fall commencement ceremonies December 10-11, 2021.
Harris is Virginia Tech graduate
Sydney Logan Harris of Blue Ridge graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Virginia Tech on December 17, 2021. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Sydney is a 2018 graduate of Lord Botetourt HS and is the daughter of Blake and Elisa Harris of Blue Ridge.
