Town of Fincastle holds annual Christmas Parade

Fincastle found that festive feeling over the weekend as the Christmas season is officially underway.

The town held its annual Christmas Parade last Saturday afternoon to the delight of the onlookers who waved and wished the floats passing by the happiest of holidays.

This year’s parade featured floats and walkers from: the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, Botetourt County Libraries, the Lord Botetourt Marching Band, Rasnick Family Farm, First Bank, James River Marching Band, James River Booster Club, Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club, 4-H Honey Bee Club, Floyd Ward School of Dance, Fincastle Preschool, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Fincastle Fire Dept., Fincastle Rescue Squad, Brent Hershey-State Farm, Buchanan Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad, Troutville Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad, Eagle Rock Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad, Botetourt 4-H Robotics Team, Harmony Equestrian Center, and Star City Corvettes.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints won for best float in the religious category.

Winners in the Fincastle Christmas Parade on Saturday were:

Religious Category

1st place – Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

2nd place – Fincastle Baptist

Traditional Category

1st place – Floyd Ward School of Dance

2nd place – 4-H Honey Bees

3rd place – First Bank
