The Town Improvement Society in Buchanan is having two Valentine-themed events at the Wilson Warehouse.
The first is Saturday, Feb. 7, from 4-6:30 p.m. for “Choc Till You Drop,” a huge chocolate buffet and silent auction. “Valentine’s Day Take-Out Dinners” will be available on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 3-6 p.m. These unique activities help raise needed funds for maintenance and preservation of the 1834 Wilson Warehouse, one of the few remaining 19th century commercial buildings in Botetourt County.
“Choc Till You Drop” features an all-you-can-eat buffet of chocolate desserts and candies; all homemade. Wine by the glass will be available for purchase. A silent auction will feature an assortment of items from event tickets, to jewelry and even practical household items. The auction concludes at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 and can be paid at the door or purchased online at https://bit.ly/choctillyoudrop. Advance tickets are also available at Southern Girls Mercantile, 19812 Main Street, Buchanan, open daily except Wednesdays.
“Valentine’s Day Take-Out Dinners” are a homemade three-course meal to order ahead and pick up at the Wilson Warehouse from 3-6 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. Reheating instructions will be provided. There is a choice of two first courses, four entrees and four desserts. Orders must be placed by Feb. 10 – the complete menu and online ordering are available at https://bit.ly/btisvday. Phone orders also are accepted at 540-817-5772. Dinner for two is $75, dinner for one is $37.50.
The Wilson Warehouse is located at 421 Lowe Street in Buchanan. Information on both events, including the take-out dinner menu, is available at wilsonwarehouse.org.
