The Lord Botetourt girls remained undefeated as they opened the Region 3A West soccer tournament with a 6-3 win over Hidden Valley in Daleville Monday.

The Cavaliers will put their 19-0 record on the line tonight, Wednesday, at Western Albemarle High School, and a spot in the state tournament will be on the line. LB will take on host Western Albemarle at 7:30 p.m. following a game between Blacksburg and Spotswood. The championship is scheduled for Thursday at Western Albemarle.

The Cavaliers added the Conference 31 championship trophy to the LB trophy case on Thursday of last week, defeating host Northside in the championship game, 5-0. Sara Bane had three goals and an assist, while Hallie Catron and Hannah Leonard had one goal apiece. Hannah Bane had two assists and Heather Finley and Alexis Borovich had one each.

On Monday at home, Sara Bane scored three more goals and assisted on another in the win over Hidden Valley. Catron, Heather Johnson and Catherine Booth scored one goal. Hannah Bane added two more assists and Autumn Bonhotel had one. Alex Heck had 13 saves in the win.

LB is now 36-1-1 over the past two seasons. Blacksburg, who is also in the regional, recently had their 77-game unbeaten streak ended with a loss to Salem.
