The Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club members wore “red” to their February meeting in honor of American Heart Month.

The GFWC Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club members have several projects coming up.

On April 1, they will sponsor FunFest, a day of playing games with snacks, lunch and door prizes. There will also be a purse auction, Pink & Green auction, book sale and lots of fun. Proceeds from this event support local scholarships, libraries, community outreach and many other projects. The event will be held at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 and may be purchased by contacting Donna Henderson at 540-520-8706 or Annette Shaw at 540-798-1182.

The club will be helping with the Youth Risk Behavior survey in the middle and high schools.

During March, members will be collecting items of clothing that are appropriate for business attire for “Dress for Success,” a program that gives women in need a job interview outfit.

The club is celebrating its 43rd anniversary of community service. On March 21, 1974, 10 women met to form the Botetourt Junior Women’s Club, the name later changed to the Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club. The club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Club, one of the world’s oldest women’s volunteer service organizations. The club meets at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. For more information, write to Botetourt Town & Country WC. P.O. Box 96, Daleville, 24083.
