RADFORD UNIVERSITY PHOTO: New James River Athletic Director Vincent Wyatt was a track star at Radford University.

Last week the Botetourt County School Board, upon the recommendation of school administration and the division auperintendent, approved Vincent Wyatt as the new James River High School Athletic Director.

Wyatt will be replacing current AD Tim Jennings, who was recently named the new head football coach. Vincent is a 2011 graduate of William Fleming High School, where he won a 3A State Championship in the 110m hurdles. He went on to star for the Radford University Highlanders, earning All-America honors in 2013 and 2014, and was named the Big South Conference Runner of the Year for 2013-14 school year. Wyatt still holds school records in the 60m and 110m hurdles.

Vincent attended graduate school at Western Kentucky University where he again earned All-America honors and set school records in the 60m and 110m hurdles. He graduated with a Masters in Sports Administration in 2016.

Wyatt is currently a Special Education teacher at Lord Botetourt High School and an assistant track coach at James River.
