Botetourt Kiwanis Club President Lyn Hayth (left) recognized Megan Young as the club’s 2018 Educator of the Year during the Botetourt School Board meeting last Thursday in Fincastle. Young is librarian at Troutville Elementary School and was presented the annual award for her work in assisting other teachers and students at the school. She was presented a check for $500 and will get a new Teacher of the Year Bell that she will be able to display for the next year. The current bell, which he showed at the meeting, has no more room for engraved names.
