The James River boys jumped into the win column with a 3-2 soccer victory over Nelson County in Lovingston last week.
Wyatt Dewhirst led the Knights, scoring all three goals for a hat trick. Brennen Monaghan assisted on the first goal and Sam Wilson had an assist on the second.
Last Thursday the Knights hosted Floyd and dropped a 4-2 decision to fall to 1-5 on the season. Dewhirst scored off an assist from Angel Morales and Morales scored off a Monaghan assist.
River was scheduled to play at Patrick County on Tuesday of this week and on Friday the Knights are off to Hillsville to take on Carroll County.
