Virginia Tech will be the site of the Region 2C tennis tournaments for boys and girls this week. Action began Tuesday with James River upsetting top-seeded Appomattox in the girls’ team tournament, 5-4.
With Tuesday’s win James River advances to the team semifinals today, Wednesday, against Glenvar. The Highlanders opened with a win over Nelson County on Tuesday.
Today will also have doubles quarterfinals with singles quarterfinals to be played on Thursday. Girls’ doubles semifinals and finals are scheduled for Friday morning, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Knights had their last regular season match, against Martinsville, rained out last week.
