The Lord Botetourt cross country teams competed at Jefferson Forest last Saturday for the annual “Runnin’ with the Wolves” invitational. Times were strong, despite a more challenging, traditional-style race course.
Preston Vaughn led the way for the LB boys, placing fourth on the day in a very competitive field. Anne Thorne led the LB girls home, continuing her unbroken streak in 2026.
“With so many courses being pancake flat these days, it was great to see our runners perform so well on a more classic-style course,” said LB coach Noel Preece.
The trio of Preston Vaughn, Anne Thorne and Archer Lee will next travel to Richmond this Saturday, October 17, to compete at “The VA XC Showcase,” the nationally competitive meet at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville. This is one of the most competitive meets in the nation.
