American Legion Post 240, Daleville assisted with food distribution at the annual Marine Corps Mud Run this past Saturday, Sept. 16. Proceeds from this event are used to fund the Marines Toys-for-Tots event.

Post 240 thanked Ikenberry Orchards General Store and Kroger-Bonsack for their donations for this event.

“We would also like to give a very special thank you to Angela Owusu who is the Unit Director for Bojangles in Daleville. She has allowed American Legion Post 240 to request donations on several campaign efforts in the past,” a Post official said. “These funds are used to assist military veterans who reside in Botetourt County and need financial assistance in paying their utility bills or medication needs. We also distribute funds to the Disabled Veterans Fund, Wounded Warriors Fund and will be sending donations to the American Legion State offices in Texas and Florida in the near future.”
