Botetourt County celebrated its first 200 years with a Bicentennial Pageant, “Echo from the Hills” 1770-1970, performed at James River High School and at Lord Botetourt High School. This “Echo from the Hills” 1770-1970 vinyl LP record has excerpts from the musical program. Some of the people named on this record and those who participated are alive today. It was donated to the Botetourt Museum of History and Culture by the Rev. Robert McRae on July 3, 2022. The museum also has pictures and a movie from this time in Botetourt’s history. Vinyl records and players are popular again.
