It was a beautiful night for a movie at Troutville Elementary! Dozens gathered to enjoy “Monsters University,” the first movie in the “Movies in the Park” series.

Botetourt County Parks and Rec, Libraries, Fire, and EMS teamed up with Botetourt County Schools and Troutville Elementary to kick off the summer last Friday night for their first “Movie in the Park” event.

Children enjoyed a bouncy house, crafts, and prizes and settled down with a showing of Disney’s “Monsters University.” Dr. Mac Scothorn from the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors attended the event, along with approximately 370 of the county’s families and friends.

Botetourt County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Dr. Mac Scothorn chats with participants and helps hand out prizes to those in attendance.

Botetourt Parks and Rec has scheduled the next Movie in the Park for July 2. The county would like to thank everyone for attending the event and a special “thank you” to the Troutville Elementary PTA for their assistance.
