In October, the Botetourt Rotary Club welcomed Tim Bradshaw, Dutch Herrig, James Garner and Shannon Wickline as members. Bradshaw serves as executive director of the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. Herrig currently serves as a plant manager for Altec Industries. Garner is the development director for the Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center. Wickline is the owner and president of Shannon Wickline Music and Videography.

“We are pleased to have such a diverse and hard-working member base,” noted Lethia Hammond, president-elect and publicity chairman. “Each of our members brings a unique skill set and specialized knowledge that contributes to the success of our organization and our efforts in the community. “

In addition to inducting new members, the club also recognized Botetourt Rotary President Dr. Angie Anderson as well as past presidents Husain Alam, Don Nichols, Jeff Stritesky, and Joe Obenshain. Each club president received the president’s pin.

The Botetourt Rotary Club works to improve the lives of individuals in the community, state, nation and throughout the world, Hammond said. Local club projects for the current year include purchasing and distributing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, co-sponsoring the Fincastle 5K virtual run, raising money for three local food pantries, providing outdoor benches for public seating, and hosting the annual fall raffle to benefit the League for Animal Protection in Fincastle.

During the COVID-19 pandemic the Botetourt Rotary Club continues to meet both virtually and in-person each first and third Wednesday of the month. In-person meetings begin at 12 noon at Bellacino’s in Daleville. For those who prefer to meet virtually, a WebEx link is provided upon request. All are welcome to attend.

For more information about joining the Botetourt Rotary Club, contact Kathryn Bishop, membership chairman, at 540-339-6882.
