The Buchanan Moose will host its Eighth Annual Fishing Rodeo at Steve Thrasher’s Pond in Springwood on Saturday, May 7, rain or shine. It begins at 11 a.m., with lunch at noon. Activities will include fishing, hay rides, sack races, a 50-50 drawing, and raffle tickets. Every child will receive a door prize.

The cost is $30 for the first child and $20 for additional siblings. Lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided. If you would like to attend, there is a form to be filled out; contact Steve at 540-632-3598 or thrasher65115@gmail.com, or Melissa at dirtdevl2004@yahoo.com, 540-520-1752.

Proceeds will benefit Reagan Repair, who was born December 1, 2021. She was prenatally diagnosed with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect called atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD). Reagan spent eight days in UVA’s NICU and was stable enough to go home to be with her parents and older sister and brother until her heart operation. She has had countless appointments and procedures to closely monitor her conditions at UVA. Reagan will undergo an extensive open-heart surgery to repair her heart defect so she can live her best life possible.  Her surgery was scheduled for the beginning of April.

The public is encouraged to support this family by participating in the rodeo, donating money and/or door prizes for the day or donating directly to Reagan’s family – City National Bank has an account under Reagan Repair or her family’s PayPal is mrepair2012@gmail.com.
