The Town of Buchanan is inviting community members, businesses and organizations to begin preparing for one of the area’s most anticipated summer traditions as registration officially opens for the 2026 Fourth of July Parade.
Town officials are encouraging a wide range of participants to take part in the annual Independence Day celebration, including local businesses, civic groups, churches, nonprofits, float builders, classic car owners and community organizations. Residents interested in joining the parade individually are also welcome to register.
Held each year in downtown Buchanan, the Fourth of July Parade draws visitors from across the region and serves as a centerpiece of the town’s holiday festivities. Organizers say they hope to make the 2026 parade the largest and most spirited event yet.
Participants are encouraged to begin planning float designs, organizing crews and preparing patriotic displays in red, white and blue ahead of the celebration. Classic vehicles, decorated trailers, marching groups and themed entries have long been a hallmark of the parade, which is known for its strong community participation and small-town atmosphere.
Town officials said the parade is an opportunity for residents and organizations to come together in celebration of the nation’s independence while showcasing local pride and community spirit.
Registration forms are now available through the Town of Buchanan’s website at Town of Buchanan Parade Registration Form.
Officials are also encouraging residents to share information about the event with friends, family members and local organizations to help increase participation ahead of the holiday weekend.
Additional details regarding parade lineup times, routes and event schedules are expected to be announced closer to July 4.
