The Lord Botetourt boys took second place and Eric Duncan was named Runner of the Year at the 3D indoor track meet at Roanoke College last Saturday.
Duncan won both the 1600- and 1000-meter races for the Cavaliers and was voted Runner of the Year by the coaches. LB also had region champs with Triston Graves winning the 55 hurdles and John Moughrabi taking the 500 meters.
Second places by LB athletes included Ethan Thorne, who was second in the 1600, and Caleb Miller, who took second in the 55 hurdles. Thorne was also third in the 1000, Preston Vaughn was third in the 3200, Jayden Windsor was fourth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump, and Aman Boston took fifth in the 55 hurdles.
In the relays the LB team of Moughrabi, Vaughn, Duncan and Thorne raced to a second place finish. Miller, Moughrabi, Windsor and Graves took seventh in the 4×200.
For the girls, Ratie Jensen was third in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.41 and fourth in the high jump. Abby Perkey was fourth in the shot put, Morgan Wilmer was fifth in the 55 dash, and Karleigh Brown took sixth in the pole vault. The relay team of Jensen, Brown, Analise Buyalos and Wilmer was fourth in the 4×200.
The top three in each event advance to the Class 3 state meet at Liberty University on March 2nand 3.
