The Lord Botetourt girls remained undefeated in Blue Ridge District matches with two more volleyball wins last week. The girls were scheduled to host Staunton River on Tuesday but results were too late for publication.
Last week at home the girls defeated Northside in three sets, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18. Addison Naff and Skyla Corkins had nine kills each and Addison served up three aces. Ava Stephens had eight kills and three blocks.
Last Thursday the girls were in Rocky Mount to take on Franklin County in a BRD match and won in four sets, sweeping the season series from the Eagles. LB took the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-20, but the Eagles stayed a live with a 25-19 win in the third set. Botetourt then put it away in convincing fashion with a 25-6 win in the fourth set.
Stephens had a dozen kills in this one to go with four blocks and three aces. Corkins and Sydney Bergsten had seven kills each and combined for five blocks. Lilly Crenshaw had 33 assists and three aces and Addalyn Underwood had four aces and 16 digs.
The girls come into the week at 16-6 overall and 6-0 in the district. On Thursday they’ll travel to Vinton for a big BRD match against William Byrd.
