Springwood Food Pantry open on November 19
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9-10:30 a.m. The pantry is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan. This pantry is a drive-through pantry, so clients may remain in their cars and volunteers will load the food for them. The pantry is open each month on the third Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. It is a partner with Feeding America Southwest Virginia and anyone in need of food is invited to participate.
Solomon’s Mission Christmas Bazaar
Solomon’s Mission Christmas Bazaar is Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Vendors include Mary & Martha, Colorstreet, Tupperware, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, handmade items, Solomon’s Christmas tables and many more; breakfast, lunch and a bake sale. The thrift store will also be open 9-1. Solomon’s Mission is at 592 Lowe Street, Buchanan.

- O Holy Bright Drive-Thru Christmas Lights: It’s that time of year again for the third annual Drive Thru Christmas Lights event Dec. 2-4, Dec. 9-11, Dec. 16-18 and Dec. 24 from 5:30 to 9:30.
- It’s a big dill…Pickleball has arrived. Come join the fun in St. Mark’s Family Life Center. First and fourth Mondays of the month, 5-7 p.m.; second and third Mondays of the month, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; fifth Monday, no pickleball. Inclement weather schedule: if schools are closed, the gym is closed. Cost: Donations (for facility use, electricity and equipment replacement).
Ecumenical Thanksgiving service at Andrew Chapel
Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church and Springwood Baptist Church will have an Ecumenical Thanksgiving service on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. This service will be held at Andrew Chapel UMC, located at 3936 Beaver Dam Road, just off Springwood Road in Springwood. The community is invited to attend this special service of thanksgiving.
Springwood Baptist special November events
Springwood Baptist Church invites the public to the morning service on Sunday, Nov. 20, and the Thanksgiving meal afterward. Bring a vegetable and dessert to share and enjoy fellowship.
All are also invited to an evening service on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Mike Anderson, pastor of Springwood Baptist, will preach this service at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, 3936 Beaver Dam Road, Buchanan.
Fall Bazaar at Ebenezer UMC
Ebenezer United Methodist Church will have its Fall Bazaar on Saturday, Nov.19, from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. There will be a bake sale, crafts, sausage biscuits, sausage gravy, coffee and, at 11 a.m., hot dogs and chili. Ebenezer is located at 85 Nace Road, Troutville.
Mount Olivet Christmas Bazaar
A Christmas Bazaar will be held at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, 26310 Lee Highway, Buchanan, on Saturday, Nov. 19, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Buy Christmas gifts, have breakfast and lunch, and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
