The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce will hold an open house this Thursday from 12-6 p.m. at 23 South Roanoke Street in Fincastle. It is inviting the public to attend and learn more about what events the Chamber has planned for this year and how it is supporting local businesses in Botetourt County.

The Chamber is proud of its 78 years as an organization supporting the thriving business community. The Chamber welcomed seven new businesses last year with ribbon cuttings, along with holding educational and networking opportunities for the business community. The Chamber has a strong tradition of offering annual signature events, including the State of the County address, Botetourt County Fair beer garden/concert, meeting of the membership, annual dinner, golf tournament, Historic Ghost Tours, and the Tinsel Trail.

The Chamber is also honored to award $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors. This year, the Chamber added another scholarship for home-schooled students, bringing the total scholarships offered to area students to four.

These events rely on partnerships with area businesses that choose to support the Chamber’s investment in the communities they serve. The Chamber is supported by dedicated volunteers on committees that plan the events throughout the year. “We are grateful for the partnerships that strengthen the community in many ways,” states Khari Ryder, Executive Director of the Botetourt Chamber. He emphasizes that it is a “win-win for everyone involved.”
