Cub Scouts sought

Local scouts and leaders adventure outdoors– having fun, making memories and learning skills that last a lifetime.

Cub Scout Pack 82 is looking for a few good boys in grades 1-5 to help the Cub Scout Pack have fun and go on great adventures this year.

Much like Mougli, in The Jungle Book movie (which the pack went to see together), an adventure is always more fun with friends, both old and new.

Pack 82 is having a spring planning party on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Members will be planning the Saturday’s Lock-in Camp-out Experience, Scouts on Skiis, Great Valley Pinewood Derby Workshops, a howl at the moon night hike, as well as the annual Blue & Gold Banquet Birthday Party.

Cub Scout Pack 82 meets every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Fincastle. First to fifth grade boys are invited to visit the pack and see what Scouting offers for the entire family.

Cub Scout Pack 82 has lots of fun family activities planned, including picnics and hikes, campfires, camp-ins (nights at the museums), Troutoree Fishing Tournaments at Powhatan, seasonal camp outs, ski weekends at Winterplace and adventures each week, Annual Blue & Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby Races, attending special events and trips to fun and interesting places, along with earning awards including belt loops, pins and patches.

Even for youth playing sports on Thursdays, Pack 82 is an active group, with weekend activities.

For more information, contact Donna Haley at 966-4243 or email mgmom@outlook.com.
