Music, food, and community spirit filled Daleville Town Center last Saturday afternoon as residents gathered for another installment of the venue’s summer concert series, an event that raised money for local nonprofit organizations while offering live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The event featured performances by local favorites Big Daddy Ray and Bottom of the Barrel. Admission proceeds benefited Total Action for Progress and the American Cancer Society.
Attendees had no shortage of food options, with vendors including Mountain Grille, Cousins Maine Lobster, El Gordo’s Kitchen, Kefi Greek Food with a Passion, Kerstin’s Kitchen, Chick-fil-A Bonsack, The Tot Box, Grandpa Ike’s Mini Donuts, Ello Gelato Truck and The Local Lemon.
In addition to live music and food, families enjoyed free children’s activities, including a balloon artist, face painting, and glitter tattoos.
The concert series, presented by Bank of Botetourt and Michelob Ultra, has become a popular summer destination in Botetourt County, combining live entertainment with fundraising opportunities for area nonprofits.
The series continues Friday, June 26, with country act Red Dirt Revolution taking the stage.
Based in Baltimore, Red Dirt Revolution has built a following throughout the Mid-Atlantic with its high-energy performances, dual-guitar sound and harmony-driven vocals. The band has opened for the Eli Young Band and Lee Greenwood and has performed at venues alongside artists including Keith Urban and Cody Johnson.
The group has also performed at M&T Bank Stadium for Baltimore Ravens events and has appeared on local radio and iHeartRadio programming. With more than 80 shows annually, the band has become a fixture on the regional country music circuit.
Friday’s concert will benefit Botetourt-area nonprofit organizations and feature food vendors including Chick-fil-A Bonsack and The Tot Box, along with The Local Lemon, Grandpa Ike’s Donuts and The Rad Shack. Free children’s activities will also be available.
Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday, and admission is $10 at the gate. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
