The Town of Buchanan is hosting its second annual Buchanan Town Council candidates’ forum. It will be at the Buchanan Theatre on Monday, Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m.

Marty Rickman, Jim Kidd and Chris Witt are running for the two seats up for election. Mayor Craig Bryant will moderate the event. The public is encouraged to attend to get to know the Buchanan Town Council Candidates for November’s Election! There is a Meet and Greet portion for the public to ask questions to candidates.

Mayor Craig Bryan, will serve as moderator for the event. Town Manager Jason Tyree will serve as timekeeper and assist the moderator as needed.

The agenda will be:

  • 6 p.m.: Meet and Greet
  • 6:30 p.m.: Speeches begin (five minutes per candidate)
  • 6:45 p.m.: First question (five minutes per candidate to answer the question)
  • 7:30 p.m.: Second question (five minutes per candidate to answer the question)
  • 7:45 p.m.: Final meet and greet with citizens
  • 8 p.m.: End of forum

The candidates will give a short speech on who they are, why they are running, and what they want to accomplish (who goes first will be chosen at random). Mayor Bryant will ask two questions to each candidate (also chosen at random). This will not be a debate; it is just meant to be an opportunity to find out more about each candidate.
