John Henry “Johnny” Harris, 82, of Troutville, passed away on January 25, 2026, at his home.

Johnny was born in Botetourt County to the late Samuel Bedford Harris and Nannie Holdren Harris Keith. He was preceded in death by his brother-law, Warren M. Goad; and half-brothers, Raymond, Alfred, and Harrison Harris. He graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and retired from Botetourt County Public Works as the Manager of the Botetourt County Landfill. Johnny also enjoyed hunting, vintage car shows, NASCAR and his family.

Survivors include his sister ,Nancy Harris Goad; niece, Angela and Charles J. “Buddy,” “Charlie” Italiano; nephew, Craig E. Goad; great-nephews and -nieces, Jacob and Kristie Delp, Samuel and Taylor Delp, Emily Holbrook and family, Aydin Italiano; great-great-nephews and -nieces, Jake, Kinsey and Keagan Delp, and Chamberlyn Delp; also half-nephews, Bobby and Juanita Harris, Jerry and Cindy Harris; special friends and neighbors, the Ross Family.

Funeral services for Johnny will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2026 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan with Pastor Danny Barham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service and after the service in the Botetourt Event Center. Johnny will be laid to rest beside his parents in Daleville Cemetery as the weather permits. Memorial donations can be made in John’s name to Lord Botetourt High School / Future Farmers of America Chapter, 1435 Roanoke Road, Daleville, 24083.
