James River took five wrestlers to Alleghany High School last weekend for the Alleghany Duals in Covington. The Knights forfeited nine weight classes, resulting in no team wins, but had some good individual performances.
Undefeated wrestlers on the day included senior 120-pounder Silas Whitson and 113-pound sophomore Ethan Serrano, who both went 5-0. “Both wrestled well on the day,” said River coach Bobby Stewart.
River is off this week, returning Jan. 21 for a quad match in Springwood. It will be Senior Night for the Knights.
