Preparations underway for Botetourt County Fair

Since we have now officially welcomed summer with our Memorial Day celebrations, it is time to start filling in our summer calendars. We are thrilled to ask that you save the date for the Botetourt County Fair August 5-6 on the Buchanan Carnival Grounds!

On Friday evening, the Botetourt Chamber of Commerce will host a beer garden and live music from Western Justice to kick off the fair. Saturday will be filled with livestock and poultry shows, agriculture demonstrations, homemaking competitions including crafts, photography and crops, lots of great food and much, much more.

We anticipate that there will be many local vendors selling their agriculture products.  If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please email us at Botetourtcountyfair@gmail.com.

The Kid’s Corner will be back this year, with the possible additions of a bouncy house and a mechanical bull!  Saturday’s festivities will culminate with the livestock and poultry auction, featuring our local 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors.  For more information, visit the website at https://botetourtcountyfair.com/.

We appreciate our many sponsors who have already promised their support, including Bank of Botetourt, Rockingham Co-op, First Bank and Farm Credit. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please email us.

We hope that you will mark your calendar now, and that we will see you at the fair August 5 and 6!  Until then have a fabulous and safe summer.

Emily Bailey, Sherrye Fleshman, Kate Lawrence, Stefanie Manbeck, Tyler Painter, Scott Stevens, Amy White
